Not a showreel but a medley. Created when I still used a seperate name for the Dutch Market: Strak In Beeld (ie: Tight Shots, or something like that).
These are my explorations and more of After Effects uses in motion graphics and visual effects, ending in a before and after sequence.
Don’t let the thumbnail scare you; the sporadic splatter is totally harmless.
The leader I made for the videocollective, part of the USVA Cultural Student Centre in Groningen.
I’ve been a member for many years. These days, they call themselves Buiten Kader (i.e. Off Screen) and they can be found here: www.buitenkader.nl. They mostly make student films, ranging from fiction to registrations.
This motion graphic was created in After Effects, using the camera, some text, layer modes, and the vegas effect.
The leader I animated for IMAGINE 2010, the 26th edition of this Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival. Based on Iris van der Eijken’s artwork, and spiced with Bram Meindersma’s music.
My old showreel for Strak in Beeld. I’m back to Mutant Worm for the Dutch market these days.
This motion graphic was done in After Effects, combining several facets of my work as a filmmaker. I had started the year before on visual effects and motion graphics. One thing just lead to another and these days, professionally, I’ve focussed on animating.
Testcase. A promoclip made to reel in a possible client. After Effects was used to create the graphics, the main focus being on the animating all the butterflies in the design.
A nice day at a beautiful dolmen (hunebed) in Borger. I used a DIY dolly for the shot. We had to wait for the sun to come out and the chance people in the background sure hit the mark! Many thanks to Luan for featuring as the cyclist on her mom’s bike, and for having a dress to match the red butterflies.
