Renger of Soundbase/Soundlabel has a Sound Studio right here in the Puddingfabriek. He called out on Twitter for Kinetic Typography projects to apply his new X-treme Whooshes Volume 3 to. I offered to build him a project especially for that. More examples are to follow by others, and the Volume will be released some time in the near future.
As for the process. I had traffic accidents in mind creating this, and spend some time tweaking the animation with the speed graph on this one. It was a good project for it and I made it nice and grungy.
“You’ve thought about franchising. But you have questions. You need someone who knows franchise law, understands franchise regulation, has a plan for avoiding the “franchising pitfalls” and – if franchising is right for you – has the formula for franchising your business.
Charles N. Internicola is the Franchise authority.”
Simple Story Videos from Ottawa, Canada, contacted me a little while back to ask if I’d animate for them. Having just posted my Mutant Worm explanimation on twitter they emailed me the very next day. Come to think of it, it might have been the same day due to the time difference.
The collaboration finally happened about a month ago when I started creating this video for franchise lawyer Charles N. Internicola. Simple Story Vids provided the voice over, storyboard and most of the illustrations, so I can only take credit for animating Apparently, the client was so satisfied he might want three more videos.
The sound was done by Soundbase (Soundlabel)—also based here in the Puddingfabriek (yes, this was once a pudding factory)—mainly using sounds from their upcoming X-treme Whooshes Volume 3.
I love doing these and reorganized my site to stress them more. If at all possible, can I have my own actual studio, with an arc over the entrance reading MUTANT WORM ANIMATION STUDIOS? We’d be creating all sorts of character animation projects in After Effects, 3D Software, and actual stop motion. I did my first animation with clay in my early days of filmmaking so it wouldn’t be weird to return to the actual physical stuff.
