Mutant Worm is in essence freelance filmmaker Frank Boxman. Yeah, that's me. I've been using the name since 1998 when I worked on a claymation with a mutated worm, one with a scarf and a hat — and eyes, I shouldn't forget the eyes. I even think of him as having teeth.
Since films are rarely made alone, Mutant Worm thrives on collaboration: with a supportive and creative home base, with fellow creatives and with clients.
Located at The Studio in Groningen, The Netherlands, this collaboration often involves a combination of freelance companies. So while Mutant Worm is very versatile in and of itself, nearly every discipline of the film trade is at our disposal. Nothing to stand in the way of dreaming your big dreams. Except maybe for budget...
Mutant Worm focuses on storytelling and character animation which is a joy to create and where anything is possible. The crews are as small or large as you need.
Frank has a university degree in English language and literature; a study where tedious theoretical courses in film analysis drove him into the practical field of actually making films. You can see most of these under Fiction.
