A life action/animation hybrid film to basically enliven and show the steps and timing it takes to organise your PhD Defence.
Long time friend and filmmaker Marieke Verdijk asked me to help out with the concept and animation for a film requested by the University of Groningen. This is our second project together, the other one being the ongoing Humanity Hits we are creating with and for the University Library of Groningen.
Fortunately our client got enthusiastic about the concept we came up with. Fulfilling their wish to both incorporate the scenery of Groningen University as well as animation was a bit of a head scratcher at first. So off we went and this is the result. It’s a dense informative video where the scenery and animation help support the content while also livening things up.
